CAMP DISCOVERY
Camp
Discovery is a place where children who have mild to
moderate special needs can experience a fun filled day camp
that features all of the same activites as a typical camp.
Children are able to access the camp in a safe and
successful manner because of the high counselor to camper
ratio of 1:3. All of our counselors have special training.
We have speech, occupational and music therapists
consulting with our counselors to develop goals and
interventions that will enable campers to enjoy daily
routines and activities in a language-rich environment.
Camp Discovery is designed for children who are able to
follow basic directions in a group setting. The program is
ideal for a child who is fully or partially included in his
or her classroom during the school year, attends a
collaborative pre-school or kindergarten program or a
special day class without an aide.
